Super Healthy Black Bean Brownies

Healthy and very tasty black bean brownies

Preparation time 5 minutes
Cooking time 25-30 minutes
Total time  30-35 minutes


1 1/2 cups black beans (about 500 grams), previously soaked overnight and cooked or 1 15 oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 Tablespoon coconut sugar, optional (I didn’tuse it)
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/3 cup chocolate chips. I added dark chocolate chips. Feel free to use any kind you like.  Optional, you can also top with additional 1/3 cup chocolate chips before baking (I didn’t add them)


Preheat oven to 350 F degrees (180 C).
Put beans, coconut sugar (if using), honey, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, baking powder into a food processor. Blend until smooth. Add in eggs and blend. It is very important to not over-blend at this point.

Add in chocolate chips and mix by hand. This time I actually blended chocolate chips with the rest of the ingredients and it turned out pretty delicious.
Pour into 8×8 greased pan, top with chocolate chips.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. If you prefer more fudgy brownies check these at 25 minutes.

You can add any frosting you prefer. I only added some cashew butter and it was pretty awesome

Store in airtight containers in the fridge.
